Random Thoughts of Friends

Yesterday I thought about an old friend very randomly. We are not in touch much– maybe once every two months. Ten minutes later she emailed me to check in. I wonder if friendships follow a time rhythm that is reciprocal.  You share a relationship with someone that reasserts itself at regular patterns and those patterns change based on circumstance and in the same way for both of you.

This period of quarantine cooks up a lot of thoughts. I notice something different about the dog who now has us around all the time. Or perhaps I’m just noticing things that I would if I were around the dog all the time.
